The café was popular—bright lighting, leafy décor, a menu full of buzzwords like *organic*, *locally sourced*, and *fresh*. We ordered salads without hesitation. After all, what could be safer than raw vegetables?

At first glance, everything looked normal. Crisp greens. Sliced tomatoes. A light dressing.

Then someone paused.

“Do you see that?” one of us asked.

At the bottom of the bowl, barely noticeable, were **tiny black dots** scattered across the lettuce. At first, we assumed they were seasoning—pepper, chia seeds, maybe herbs.
