## The First Time I Saw It
It was small. Subtle. Easy to miss.
I caught sight of it while going through my normal routine—brushing my teeth, half-awake, already thinking about the day ahead. Something was different. Not dramatic. Just… unfamiliar.
I leaned closer to the mirror.
It wasn’t painful. It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t demanding attention. And because of that, my brain did what it always does in those moments—it minimized.
